The Hose Mule is NFPA 1500 compliant for reloading LDH onto a moving apparatus for the purpose of replacing hose in the hose bed. The Hose Mule can pull in 1-3/4” and 2-1/2” hose from a stationary position which can then be reloaded directly into a hose bed. This can be of great benefit to firefighters at a wildland fire units have to quickly reload hose and go to the next job.

The Hose Mule comes in several models and is compatible with hose ranging from 4 inch all the way up to 12 inch. The units are powered by a 1/6th horsepower gear motor which run off either 12 volts directly from the apparatus battery or hydraulic powered from a separate unit.

The average amount of hose that is able to be picked up is between 50 and 80 feet per minute.
